The Civil Registry is the mechanism by which the state identifies people and marital status in the social conglomerate, in their family relations, situation in which rights and obligations arise. This basically is contained in the Decree Law 1260 of 1970. Progressively the State has sought to provide a more convenient and secure service in the civil registration of persons, in this sense has implemented various policies to modernize it.
A notaries were authorized to provide this service on a shared basis by Resolution 5296 of 15 November 2000 of Colombia.
DECREE 1260 OF 1970
Article 1. The civil status of a person is their legal status in the family and society, determines their ability to exercise certain rights and assume certain obligations, is indivisible, available and its allocation corresponds to the law.

Sixty-Eight Notary of Bogota, has no system of differential schedules or shifts to cater to users of civil registration. The service user can access within the office hours of the notary public, ie, Monday through Friday (8:00 am to 5:30 pm) and every Saturday (8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) obtaining copies of the respective registration immediately.
